So much to do ... so little sleep
Chaos. Our life is a little bit chaotic right now. Cooper and Shelby both had to see the doctor on Tuesday. Coop had to get lab work yesterday. And today Cooper was back at the doctor because his bilirubin count was too high. Meanwhile, We've been trying to finalize Shelby's birthday party plans (only a week left until she turns five!) and today Shelb had an Easter party to attend. Crazy with a capital C.
I would love to say I've been getting all the sleep I need ... but I'm not. I'm pretty much staying up most of the night, since Cooper seems to want to eat every hour on the hour from about 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. And then after a few hours of a break, he's right back at it. Since Cooper's doctor's appointment on Tuesday and the one he had today, he's gained 8 ounces. So all this nursing seems to be paying off.
Shelby told me this morning that we should have "gotten Cooper a long time ago." She really adores him. She sings to him, snuggles him and loves to hold hid hand. When she sings to him, he'll stare intently at her with his eyes wide open. Shelby's ear infections are all cleared up and she's back to happy little self.
Most mornings Shelby and I spend the first 15 or 20 minutes that she's awake chatting and snuggling. But now that Cooper is here, she wants to cuddle him, not me. I've been putting them in our bed together and she snuggles up to him and holds his hand. It's just about the cutest thing in the world.

I'm slowly adjusting to being the mom of two kids instead of one. I'm sure it will take a lot of time to really feel like I've got a handle on it. For now, I'm enjoying all the snuggles and loves. And I really am quite happy with how well Shelby has taken to being a big sister. She's a natural!
