{Simple Scrapper} New layout ... #MileADay
Hello there! Happy Friday. I have a new layout to share about something near and dear to my heart ... my Mile A Day challenge, which is still going strong (as of today I've gone 41 days straight, woo hoo for me). Created for Simple Scrapper, this layout was inspired by one of the April 2014 Story Starters. Love, love these story starters. They always spark a story or journaling that I wouldn't have otherwise though of.
Journaling reads:
In November of 2012 I ran a half marathon. It was my first half marathon and possibly my last. I was so proud of myself for starting and finishing the race, but I was so sore for weeks after the fact. And my arthritis flared up and made walking, sitting and standing painful. I didn’t exercise (formally at least) for more than a year. Fifteen months after the half marathon, I had gained 10 pounds and my arthritis + migraines were ruling me. So I decided it was time to get off my butt and start moving again. That’s when I came up with my personal Mile A Day challenge. Every single day I would walk, run or hike a mile. I always say I don’t have enough time to exercise, but I can manage a mile, right? I can’t say I always love doing this, but if I don’t do it, what’s my future going to look like? I’ll be hunched over and moving like a little old lady before I’m even 40 … so, each day I give myself the gift of exercise and each day I’m grateful I can move. I’m sure my future self will thank me.
