{Crafty} I made a quilted table runner
A long time ago I did a lot of sewing. My mom taught me to sew when I was little. I was in the sewing group for 4-H when I was a tween. I made all sorts of projects, from clothes to home decor. And then ... I stopped sewing. Life got in the way. I have a sewing machine that has been collecting dust for years now. Truth be told, sewing scares me. It never did before, but it does now.
A few weeks ago I purchased Get Quilty, an eCourse by Elise Blaha Cripe. I figured it would be a great kick in the pants and get me back into sewing. I'm going to conquer my fear of sewing.
After a decent amount of work, I completed the first project of the eCourse: a table runner. The example is a fall-themed table runner, but I decided to make a Christmas one. It took me much longer than I expected -- even with the help of a sewing expert (THANKS Sue), but the finished product is fabulous and I feel so awesome. I'm quite proud of my table runner. When Shelby saw the runner she said, "Mom, this looks store bought. I think it's the best crafty project you've ever made." I about cried.
If I have some extra time this week I'm going to start the next project in the course, quilted coasters. Wish me luck!
