New Layout: Journaling with a list

Struggling with the journaling on your page? When you’re struggling to come up with the right words, I’ve found one of the easiest ways to journal is by creating a list. Nothing fancy … just a simple list of things or thoughts that illustrate the story or idea at hand. For this particular layout, I made a list of things that completed this sentence: I love you because ...

Rather than overthinking the process, I just listed the first things that came to mind when I thought of my daughter and why I love her. I stung these reasons together without explanations or following proper grammar  rules to create my journaling block. Sometimes, it feels good to just ignore all the rules and let my feeling flow.

Next time you’re stumped, make a list. Any list will do. How about finishing one of these sentences with a list:

  • My favorite foods are …
  • Your drive me crazy because …
  • I always wanted to …
  • You make me smile because …
  • I can’t live without …

Or you can create a layout right now finishing the same sentence I used: I love you because …

Journaling reads:

I love you because …

you’re smart. because you’re sweet. because you’re so stinkin’ funny. because you don’t give up. because you’re strong. because you’re oh so passionate. because you question everything. because you are bright and creative. because you’re free with your laughter. because you are mine.
