Project Life: Key tips for newbies
Slowly but surely I’m making progress on my 2012 Project Life album. As I was working on this set of pages, I started thinking about what tips I’d share with those of you just starting out. I have lots of “tips,” but today I wanted to focus on my top three tips.
- Let go of your expectations. Rather than having a lot of preconceived notions as to how your pages and album are going to turn out, just go with it. Take pictures, record your memories and bask in the joy of having them together in a single place.
- Don’t be afraid to repeat. There are certain elements I really love, speech bubbles for example, and I decided that if I want to use them every week, then I will. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel week in and week out. I also stick with the same basic set of fonts (Bebas, Hero and Another Typewriter font). I like these fonts and rather than waste time looking for new, different fonts to use, I stick with what I like.
- Keep your go to tools together. I‘m 100% digital, so I have all my favorite, go-to products in a single folder on my desktop. If you’re a paper Project Lifer, put all these items in a basket on your workspace so you’re not constantly digging them out or looking for them.
Here are my pages for my Week 47. They cover Oct. 21-27 and include some fun Halloween photos. I used a kit from Jady Day Studio, In My Happy Field, which I bought on Digital Scrapbooking Day. It’s such a happy, sweet kit.
