Project Life: Week 7

I'd share some photos of my completed pages, but I'm not done. I was home a total of 48 hours this weekend and rather than putting pages together ... I went on a date with Mike; took Shelby for macaroons; did laundry; snuggled my little boy; filled out Fridge with food; watched movies ... I enjoyed my time at home. I'm trying to make an effort to not stress too much about this project and rather just savor life. Otherwise, I'll have nothing to document. I'm also trying to have some faith in my ability to take notes, hold onto the bits of life and organize my photos ... so I can come back and assemble my pages when ready. Just because I'm technically behind doesn't mean I'll be like this forever. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a doer. Once this influx of business travel is behind me, I'll catch right up.

In the meantime, I did make a collage to use with a 6x12 template from Ali. One side of the insert is has the collage with a list of things we did throughout the week. I wasn't for part of it but Mike took plenty of photos and I have photos from my business trip. It looks like this:

On the other side of the insert, I used this blog post, and photos from our trip to Frogs. I love taking stuff directly from my blog. My family, specifically my kids, don't read or see my blog. Since this album is very much for my family I want to take some of the things I share on my blog and add them to the album.

One of the other things I've been doing while I travel -- and plan to make it a practice throughout the year -- is using OhLife. It's a really cool and simple concept. It's a free service where an email is sent you daily (you pick the time of day) and you just reply to the email with what went on that day. Write as little or as much as you'd like and then hit send.  Love it. It's so simple. And it allows me take and keeps notes of my life. I like that it's digital and I can even do it from my phone. I love the convenience of it and that I can refer back to it later when I put my pages together.

I've also dropped my photos from the week into the PL Digital templates. I have the files saved and when I'm ready to print I'll send them to Costco. I'm keeping up by making sure I'm doing everything I can digitally and then it's just a matter of printing, trimming and assembling. Right now, they look like this:

Since I want to add  more photos to my pages on the week where I have more photos, I bought some fun 4x6 collage templates:

I also bought a new sewing machine -- a little one that can sit on my desk and I can access all the time. I started sewing on my pages (it's a recent thing) and I hate pulling my full-sized sewing machine out when I want to play with stitching on my pages. This is the one I got:

I can't wait to get my hands on it! I think it should be a lot of fun and I think the size and simplicity will really make it easier for me to use it on a regular basis.

So are you doing Project Life? What are you doing to make the process easier for you? Do tell!
