The Day After

After all the anticipation, Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye. Shelby woke up at 3:55 a.m. on Christmas morning. I made her go back to bed. But then, she got up every half an hour until we all finally got up at 7:30 a.m. when Cooper woke up. She was bursting with excitement and today, the day after, she's still so excited. She got everything she wanted and is enjoying playing with all her goodies. There are toys, books, puzzles, a robot ... strewn all over the house.

Shelby has been been enjoying playing with Cooper's toys too (especially the robot and his train set) and Cooper has been especially attached to Shelby's Lil' Squirt Lalaloopsy Doll ... so much so there's been some fighting and tears. We might just have to get Coop his own Lalaloopsy Doll today.
Since I'm pretty uptight about, well, everything ... there's not much of a post-holiday mess. I cleaned up the present trash as we went and loaded it all into my SUV for Mike to dispose of. I'm a little obsessive when it comes to messes. Toys strewn about are a little hard for me to handle, but I'm trying to embrace the chaos today. The kids can play, make messes and we'll worry about cleaning tomorrow.
Today, I'm going to play with my new Wacom Bamboo Tablet!! And work on my Project Life album. I'm also pretty sure there are some leftovers in our future (ham sandwiches and homemade bread). Awesomeness ahead.
