Life is Sweet

Beer Bread: I found the recipe here.
I have been diligently trying to lose weight, exercise and eat a healthier diet. I have lost about 25 pounds since August and ran/walked about 200 miles ... so it must be working. So, instead of making a lot of super sweet Christmas treats, I decided to make some tasty and slightly sweet loaves of beer bread. It's easy to make and so yummy. I'm slightly addicted to it, which means I probably won't be making it again any time soon (too tempting). But, in a pinch it's a great and tasty treat.
Ingredients:

    3 cups self-rising flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    12 ounces beer
    2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Butter a loaf pan and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and beer and mix well. The mixture should be sticky. Pour into the loaf pan and bake for 55 minutes. At the last 3 minutes of baking, remove from oven, brush the top of the loaf with butter and return to oven.
