The LONG drive home
This was the first time I drove to Idaho, since we've moved to Tucson. I made the drive up with just Shelby, but thankfully Mike joined us on the return. It takes about 14 to 15 hours to get home, though I think we could have done it in less time if we didn't have to stop so much. Can anyone tell me how we can time our potty breaks when ALL of us have to go, instead of separate stops for all three of us? Anyway, we didn't spend much time on I-15, instead we took I-89, which is far more scenic, taking us through Kanab, Utah and Lake Powell. We stopped near Big Rock Candy Mountain, Utah to check out the scenery. Mike and I would have been happy to keep driving, but Shelby had asked in sch a sweet little voice, "Daddy, when are we going to stop so we can walk around a little bit?"
So here are some pictures of us (mostly Shelby) goofing around on the side of the road in Utah and freezing our tails off!

I bought Shelby a portable DVD player before we left for Idaho and it was a lifesaver. I couldn't imagine what it would be like in the car for 15 hours without it. I highly recommend it to any parent about to go on a road trip. Between that, her coloring books and a large stack of her favorite books ... she was super busy the entire trip. I was expexting the worse and it didn't happen. Shelb was GREAT!
