Hello there. Happy Monday to you. I'm excited to share with you my August layouts for Simple Scrapper. I had so much fun working with a BIG photo and scrapping a little bit about myself.

My first layout is a 12x12 page, with a HUGE picture of Shelby. She's a little obsessed with her "nerd" glasses and this photo is the perfect "snapshot" of who she is right now: silly and full of spunk. Love her.

The journaling reads:

The other day, Shelby told me that moustaches were out and “nerd” glasses were in. So of course, we HAD to find her a pair. Thank you Target, you’re a lifesaver.

Next I have a layout all about me. I go through stages where I do more "all-about-me" layouts and then I don't do any. I haven't done one in awhile and was inspired to do one when I read the Story Starters for August. I also decided it would be fun to try a letter-sized layout rather than my regular 12x12. It was a creative challenge to use a new size, and I think it was a good exercise … I had to stretch myself a bit, and that's always good, right?

Journaling reads:

When I was little, I thought I’d be a stay-at-home mom with 6 kids. I’m not. I work. I work a lot. And I only have two kids. I’ve spent most of my professional career working at newspaper. I’ve been a reporter, editor, designer ... a little bit of everything. Now, I work for a Danish company that makes software for newspapers. I travel to newspapers around the world and train their staff to use our software. Once everyone is trained, then I help them transition from their old publishing system to ours. I love working. I love traveling. I love being in newsrooms. I’m very good at my job. The only downside is, I miss my family when I’m on the road.
