Project Life: Documenting An Ordinary Week

Week four was an ordinary sort of week. We came home from our vacation and settled back into real life: work, school, laundry, homework, deadlines, etc.

As I was putting together my pages, I realized I didn’t have a ton of photos and nothing earth shattering happened. How in the heck was I going to fill two whole pages? I immediately thought about adding information about the little details like the books I’ve been reading, the weather, school projects, a shopping list, and an overall recap of the week, which is something I rarely do. I definitely relied more on words this week and trolled my social media accounts to see if there were any funny moments I could share even though I had no photos to go with them.

The end result is such a wonderful snapshot of our “normal” life. No vacation. No business trips. No birthdays. No special events. Just getting up and doing the things we have to do  … and then starting again the next day. I’m already thinking about ways I can add more “real” life to next week’s pages: for example, I’ve been jotting down what we’ve been having for dinner since I’ve been cooking something different each night (this is a big deal because I’m not the cook in our family and I’m often not home so we don’t have regular family meals each night). It will be fun to look back on the list and see what I was cooking and how my family reacted to them meals (spaghetti with meat balls was a huge hit, but the pork roast was a little dry).

Here are my pages for Week 4, January 20-26:
