It's all done

The baby's room that is. Here's a look at Cooper's room (If you haven't heard, the baby's name is going to be Cooper Rex ... as long as he's really a boy. If he turns out to be a she, then Carolina Jo will be what we're calling her).

We went with a Dr. Seuss theme and had a ton of fun working on the room. It's seriously the best room in our house. Shelby says that her room is the best girl room and Cooper's room is the best boy room in the house.

Hanging from the ceiling are a variety of Dr. Seuss characters like Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Cat in the Hat, and the kids from the Cat in the Hat story. We also have some Dr. Seuss prints on the wall with numbers, ABC's and the Cat in the Hat. My favorite part of the room is the baby's name over the crib. Jennie and I cut the letters out of vinyl using her Cricut and then I ordered the polka dots from Etsy. The rocking chair is the same one I used with Shelby (Jennie bought it for me before Shelby was born, so I wanted to keep it for sentimental reasons), but we had the cushions recovered with some soft red fabric.

The bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids. It's actually what gave me the idea for the room. If you look at the PB web site, they used softer colors, like a pale blue and a pale yellow to accent the bedding. We went super bold with very bright blues, reds and some sunny yellow for good measure.

For your viewing pleasure, I decided to do a little video (above) tour of the room. I think it better captures the overall feel of the room. The red, blue and yellow letters on the shelf are some that I painted.I had planned on spicing them up with some buttons and cute patterned paper, but Mike said that would too sissy for a boy's room. I actually like how they look, bright and simple.
