A blog post about everything (or nothing, you decide)
Last night I went to my book club for the first time. I've been reading the book club books for months now, but never managed to get to the meeting. And really, the meeting is the best part, right? Well, it was. It was
SUPER
nice to get out of the house, do something on my own and hang out with other women! I'm definitely going to go back next month. September's book was
"A Doctor's Wife."
It wasn't really that good, but because it was so bad we had a lot to talk about. Next month's book is
"A Thousand Splendid Suns."
I've heard it's really good ... has anyone read it yet?
I have been breaking the law and didn't even know it. I got a speeding ticket back in July. I thought I had more time to pay my fine. I thought wrong. I got a notice in the mail from the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles today. My driver's license was suspended ... umm, last week. Yep, last week. I'm sure there is a paper somewhere telling me this would happen, but I didn't read it. So, I quickly called in my payment today and my suspension was lifted. Luckily for me I didn't get pulled over this last week or it would have been BAD news! I guess I should start paying better attention to the fine print, right?
Shelby has a new toy. We went to Ikea this weekend and while there we bought her an artist's easel. On one side there is a chalk board and the other side is a white board. There is also a spot for a roll of butcher paper as well. We bought for Christmas, thinking we'd get a jump on our holiday shopping. But once we got it home, both Mike and I didn't want to wait until Christmas to give it to Shelby. The thing is, Shelby loves art. I mean loves art!!! She'll draw, craft, paint until the cows come home. She loves making cards and is often sending off stacks of cards to her cousins and Papa. So we really wanted her to have her little artist's station, since we knew shed love it. And she does. Last night, she drew for nearly an hour without a peep. She'd draw something on the white board, wipe it clean and then start again.
