Good time for a good book
I've been a reading kick the last few weeks. I used to plow through a ton of books each month -- but motherhood, work and life in general have slowed me down a bit. However, lately I've been able to balance things more, which means more time for myself (which is good for everyone, since I'm in a generally better mood) and more time to read. Plus, since I've started traveling for business again, I have lots of time on airplanes to read, which I have been taking full advantage of.
So, I just finished reading
"My Sister's Keeper."
It was an easy read and well written enough that I started it on Sunday and finished it Monday night. Now I'm on a quest for a new book. Any suggestions?
My dear husband sent me the following ideas, he said "Here's the book I think you'd like that's similar to the Jodi Picoult, but better written."
It's called
"Never Let Me Go"
is the sixth novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, who is best known for "The Remains of the Day." He also suggested
"Oryx and Crake"
by Margaret Atwood. He said this one was a little weird, but I would like it.
My coworker, Emilia, also added a title to my list. She told me to check out
"Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia." She said she didn't "love it," because of the author seemed a bit big headed, but thought I should give it a try. She did mention that she liked the premise of the story and the reasons why the author chose her three destinations.
Oh decisions, decisions. I'm headed to a bookstore tonight!
